I don’t often do hair tutorials on here, because, to be honest, I don’t feel like I’m the best with hairstyles. 90% of the time I let my hair air dry and let it do what it does without much manipulation. I don’t use multiple products on an everyday basis…not because I don’t want to, but I’m honestly so lazy.
But now that’s it’s summer and the heat is already killing me slowly, my hands off hairstyles need to transform a bit. Today, I want to share 3 different 5-minute, everyone can make these work, hairstyles that are perfect for the sticky summer months ahead.
This shop has been compensated by Nature Box™.
Before we dive into the hairstyles, I did want to call out the reason my hair is so manageable. For the last month or so, I’ve been testing out the Nature Box™ 100% Cold Pressed Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. I haven’t always been a big conditioner girl in the past, but I’ve been using this conditioner on my hair pretty much every night and it has worked like magic for hydration and management.
I’ve been slowly trying to integrate more better-for-you products in my health and beauty routine, so when I found out the Nature Box was inspired by nature, I was excited to try it out! Nature Box uses cold pressed oils in their range of shampoos and conditioners, which essentially means the natural products are not heated, refined, or processed as they’re being made into the beauty products.
I picked up the Coconut Oil collection for extra hair hydration & moisture at my local Publix (buy one, get one free!). It’s been working wonderfully the last month or so!
3 Easy Summer Hairstyles
Ok, now on to the main event. These hairstyles are super simple and as long as your hair is healthy and longer than shoulder-length, you’ll be able to pull these styles off without a problem.
I seriously love this cute little hairstyle because of its sweet simplicity and how it looks with any outfit. Start with clean, moisturized hair and braid two loose plats.
Secure them with small plastic elastics. (Make sure you have enough bobby pins on hand for the next step). Then simply lay them across the crown of your head and secure in place with bobby pins.
I tend to adjust them a bit once they’re in place to loosen up the braids. The main key here is to let your hair do what it wants! Perfectly platted braids look like you’re trying too hard for this hairstyle. That’s why hydrated hair works so well.
Again, this hairstyle is one of the easiest to mimic. All you’ll need is your favorite scarf! I’ve found that scarves made from silky material actually hold the best.
Slide your scarf under all your hair and simply gather it together in a low ponytail. I intentionally don’t use a hair elastic for this look because I want the ponytail a bit messy and free-flowing. It’s summer after all and the hairstyles can be less structured and still look good.

Twisted Low Bun
The final hairstyle is perfect for occasions and events that may force you to step outside the comfort of air conditioning in July or August. It gets all your hair off your neck and seriously tames the flyways.
Begin by deep parting your hair to one side and twisting your hair away from your face starting at the part. Keep that twist going all the way around the base of your neck to create a seamless twist all the way around your head.
Keep twisting the entire length of your hair until it wraps in on itself. (I keep my hair elastic on my wrist for easy access during this hairstyle.) Then simply wrap your elastic around the twist of hair at the base of your neck until it feels secure. I like to finish off this look with a ribbon or a hair clip to add a little finesse.
Again, I’m not a hair wizard by a long shot, so if I can figure these hairstyles out, you’ll be golden! Just remember my secret weapon in all of this is well moisturized, healthy hair made possible by the 100% Cold Pressed Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner by Nature Box™.
