We’re now firmly in the midst of holiday content #sorrynotsorry. As we’re all looking ahead to our full or filling up holiday event calendars it’s always a good idea to have a few go-to looks in both the fashion and beauty department that are easy to recreate on those Tuesday evenings in December when the time between the end of work and the start of a soiree is exceedingly tight.

This past year I’ve been going for a less is more look when it comes to makeup. My eyes have been pretty sensitive to lots of eye makeup recently so those intense smokey eyes are a bit out of the question right now. When going for a full-on glam look, however, I love having that one statement element that brings the whole look together.

A couple weeks ago, I was introduced to a brand new product by the brand wet n wild, the MegaGlo Body Luminmzer. I’m all about adding dashes of highlighter on my face, so when I heard this look was essentially a highlighter for your body I was intrigued.

Do any other 90’s kids out there remember body glitter? I had a glitter spritz and a little purple bottle of lotion that had very obvious subtle chunks of glitter in it – let me tell you, I thought I was the COOLEST. Thankfully, I’ve since learned that heavily glittered lotion is not as attractive as I thought when I was 12, but adding a touch of shimmering to winter skin is absolutely a delicate and beautiful statement.

The wet n wild MegaGlo Body Luminizer takes that subtle highlighter effect and adds it all over your body (or wherever you choose to dab it) and as I mentioned previously it adds this beautiful shimmer during the holiday season for truly luminous skin that catches the light as you move.

I popped into Walmart (where this product is exclusively sold) a couple weeks to pick out my shade and found it almost immediately under the wet n wild banner and right next to the face highlighters. The product comes in three colors – Heart of Gold, Gold Rush, and Invested in Bronze – and was super affordable at only $9.93 for a bottle that will last well into the new year.

Instantly curious, I purchased both the Heart of Gold and Gold Rush shades to test out on my skin tone, while ultimately settling for the Gold Rush as the best compliment to my coloring. The product is tremendously easy to apply and doesn’t transfer around much to clothing – although you will want to wash the application hand thoroughly!

Because my dress was high necked, I used the product on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, shoulders, and arms but legs and collarbones are also beautiful places to add a little luminosity. I really wanted to capture the power of the product – a little goes a long way! – so I used the natural morning light to bring out the highlight in the photos throughout this post.

I love that the product doesn’t scream glitter like my junior high spritzers but rather offers a distinct yet subtle shimmer with an easily buildable formulation so you could go to town for a New Year’s Eve party or tone it down with a thin layer for your classy work party.
