August is always a lonesome month - for no particular reason. It moves slowly. Languid. The excitement of summer is often diminished, the start of the school season comes too quickly, and everyone seems to take things a little too seriously in the scorching heat.
In France and Italy (and likely other hot countries) August is viewed as a sabbatical from normal life with shops and restaurants closing for 3-4 weeks. In America - no such luck (although our Augusts are just as hot.) But, even without a country-wide shut down, there's no harm in taking the last four weeks of summer slowly and with intention. To focus on supporting our health with rest and movement, to scale back our consumption of social media and replace it with novels and meditation, to enjoy shady evening sanctuaries outside and find grounding through the earth and the fresh air. The heat won't last forever and each day can bring a bit of magic if you look for it.
This month brings a few tweaks to the content – we'll be focusing on video over on YouTube if you'd like to join me there – and I'll be introducing a new blog topic that has been a big part of my personal life over the past year (more to come).
But, for the beginning of the month - the start of the August slow down - enjoy these free, digital wallpapers to spice and spruce up your tech.
