Where to Buy a Christmas Tree in Greenville, SC

in, Holidays

Maybe it’s because Thanksgiving is late this year, but I’ve been getting the urge to decorate for Christmas already! I’ve been shooting holiday content for about two weeks now so technically I’ve already decorate a tree, but I’ve been keeping the festive decor in the back room hidden from everyday sight.

For the last 4 years, our yearly tradition has been to shop for a live Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. While I do see the allure of having a fake tree (hello, no mess!) there’s nothing like embracing the season with the smell of fresh pine and an often imperfect live tree.

For the last two years we headed about three hours north to North Carolina and Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm for a supremely special experience. The first year we were photographers for a surprise engagement and last year we continued the tradition with another visit and was asked, spur of the moment, to photograph another engagement – this time of a couple we didn’t know.

We absolutely love visiting this mountainside Christmas tree farm. It’s so picturesque and they have an amazing selection of trees, but the downside is it takes so long to get there and back on the Thanksgiving days that everyone else is also traveling.

This year we’re opting to stay closer to home and visit Mystic Farms again right after Thanksgiving and then it’ll be time to decorate fully for Christmas at the Riverwood Cape Home and we couldn’t be more excited!
