I’ve never been to a formal Thanksgiving dinner. As in a “get dressed up, be on company behavior” type of Thanksgiving meal and for that I am truly grateful.
Thanksgiving is a cozy holiday for us. It’s spent watching the parade, eating lots of food, wearing pants even Joey Tribiani would be proud of. So all these fashion blogger’s posts about fancy Thanksgiving outfits are totally lost on me. It’s not quite a sweatsuit day but I’ve never felt the need to wear anything fancier than jeans and a sweater.
So, in honor of the very happy tradition of being comfortable on Thanksgiving, I wanted to round up a few of my favorite cozy outfits that may just help inspire you to worry less about what you’re wearing and focus on the memories made from the day.
Some people get fancy with their leggings but I prefer mine to be black and inexpensive (i.e. I buy them for $3 from Forever 21.) I kid you not, I have had the same two pairs of Forever 21 leggings for 6-7 years now.
For my birthday I did get a pair of the Aerie leggings and wow! are they comfy.
Classic and simple, wearing with your hair in a ponytail and tennis shoes for an easy look that never goes out of style. I’ve accumulated quite a collection of sweatshirts over the past years – from Anthropologie “fancy” sweatshirts to athleisure it’s an easy look to pull off.
