Winter in South Carolina can be unpredictable. Warm (like 65 degrees) one day and the next 30s and rain so I’ve found it’s always good to be prepared for whatever weather comes our way.
I was browsing around Amazon a bit ago looking at coats and dreaming of a white Christmas when this Guess coat popped into my search results. It looked a bit like a princess coat – likely because I’ve been watching waaaay too many Netflix Christmas movies – but with the faux fur collar, gold buttons, and A-line shape I could easily see it on a royal.
It was a Prime Wardrobe option which means I could ship it to my house, try it on for 7 days and decide if I wanted to keep it or not. So naturally, it became part of my photoshoot.
It would honestly, be such a great coat if you were in a location where winter coats actually became part of your style. Sadly, we don’t have enough cold weather to justify a splurge like this, but I was so impressed with the quality and style when I tried it on.
Because I’m petite (only 5’1″) long coats can be a hit or miss for me. The tailoring and A-line shape of the garment created a beautiful silhouette that could be so easily paired with dresses for a much more formal look.
I went a bit more casual when styling the coat because I love the combination of formal outerwear with a day-to-day look. Lightwash denim and a simple heel felt so special because of the coat. (And yes, I do realize I’m gushing. It really is that good.)
Add a little black dress and heels and you’ll be ready for any grand event.
