There is no end to the number of words that could aptly describe the city of Charleston, South Carolina. Unyielding, historic, beautiful, charming, resolute, weathered, battered, triumphant, elegant. Perhaps a touch of grit and a loving amount of grace?

Today, I want to share a supremely special shop that resides on the destination-worthy King Street in Charleston. Let me to introduce you to Grit & Grace. Known for their passion for recycling oyster shells – more on that in a bit – and their feminine, coastal style, Grit & Grace isn’t just another gift shop.

Stop by in the morning and you’ll get a whiff of fresh biscuits baking from Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit next-door. Step inside and you’ll be greeted with a beautiful array of locally handcrafted gifts, wedding accessories, and unique jewelry that embodies the spirit of Charleston. It’s a destination worthy of a long linger amongst tables and shelves and perfect, coastal neutrals.

A Story About Oysters

From the beginning of Grit and Grace, founder Rachel Gordon had a passion for giving back to the community and the coast. Oysters are a vital component to the SC coastal eco-system and there is a serious shortage of oysters and oyster shells around our beautiful beaches. While creating delicate, artisanal oyster gifts, Rachel also partnered with SCDNR’s oyster restoration program and for every oyster piece sold at Grit and Grace 10 oyster shells go back into the ocean instead of in a landfill.

It’s a partnership that benefits everyone involved and gives back to the community in the best way possible.

A Truly Charleston Shopping Destination

With shops, destinations, and restaurants starting to open back up after a spring hiatus, Charleston and Grit & Grace Studio is able to once again come alive.

Their flagship store on King Street is also home to a number of locally produced and products and they support women entrepreneurs by carrying beautiful items that are perfect for your home, wedding, or everyday life.

My Favorite Pieces

Kindly, the lovely team at Grit & Grace shared a few of their favorite pieces with me and I was so excited to welcome them into my jewelry and bedside collection.

Oyster Jewelry Dish

This is the prettiest jewelry dish I’ve ever owned. On the website you’ll see a selection of colors and patterns, but being a neutral girl myself the subtle color and delicate gold of the classic oyster dish adds so much femininity to my nightstand. It’s perfect for rings, bracelets, even holding a pair of AirPods if you want to class-up your at-home office!

Charleston Rainbow Row Earrings

So aptly named, this collection of earrings embodies the colors of one of America’s most famous row of houses. They’re simple and unique with beautiful colors – I have the Indigo and Pearl that will pair perfectly with everything from denim and a tee to a dress for a date night.

Grit Adjustable Bolo Bracelet

Likely one of the most unique designs I’ve seen on a bracelet, it’s a statement piece that will go with any look.
