With the potential of the first snow of the year in Greenville this weekend, I thought there was no better time to share a few of my favorite winter accessories that are going to carry me through the rest of this festive season and into the winter months.
It all starts with a good hat, you see. A hat can transform an outfit in mere seconds, making it one of the most versatile accessories available. I have a collection of wool, knit, felt, and even velvet hats and love them all. For winter I dive into my stack of berets when I’m feeling fancy and beanies when I’m suffering from second day hair.
And in the vein of hats, I’ve also been excited to dive into the world of earmuffs. There are a darling selection of earmuffs in stores this year and each one seems better than the next! I wore this furry pair last year in New York and they were the perfect accessory to throw in my bag for travel and pop on when the biting wind was just too cold for my ears!
For scarves, I’ve significantly whittled down my collection in the last couple of years and have been very selective with the ones I’ve kept. A few things I look for in scarf: the right amount of fabric (can’t be too bulky or too thin), good texture, and neutral. My current favorites in the collection include a white pashmina – silky fabric with an elegant finish – and a chunky cable knit that adds an extra layer of warmth.
And last but not least, the winter accessory I cannot live without is my favorite pair of winter boots. These are best sellers from J.Crew and I know why! They’re chic, comfy, and oh so warm! The fur hugs your feet all the way down to the toes and if you’re not a fan of the red laces they also come with a mustard pair. We don’t get much snow in Greenville but we often get sleeting rain and ice, which is arguably worse than just normal snow so I’m excited to pull these boots out again during the next few months!
