It's that time of the year when the packages filled with presents for family and friends start to show up at your door. You leave out Gatorade and Cheetos for your UPS driver because he's working double overtime and you're reminded that the shopping part is the easiest part of buying presents – now you have to wrap them.

The past few years I've tried to find some ways to streamline the present wrapping process and make it both more enjoyable and a bit prettier. I've stuck to similar present wrapping aesthetics over the years – if you make it simple with just one or two wrapping papers it can much less overwhelming! – and this year is no different.

My theme is ... "brown paper packages tied up with string"?

Ok, not quite, but rustic is definitely part of the aesthetic. I went back and forth on paper options for a while this year, but eventually settled on buying a large ( and cheap!) roll of brown kraft paper from Amazon and copious amounts of beautiful velvet and satin ribbon in sage green, evergreen and burgundy red.

I have absolutely loved the simplicity of it all and personally I think the presents look so beautiful under our 7 foot fir tree. If you're still on the hunt for wrapping ideas or just need to hop to it before Christmas Eve, this may be the post to inspire you. I've rounded up some links for you to easily add to cart before shipping gets too tight.
