To start off this warm Wednesday, I thought I’d share a little Instagram Roundup with you all, seeing as I’ve gotten several questions about the items I’m wearing and how I edit my photos. I really do have a love/hate relationship with Instagram. One day it loves me, the next radio silence. But overall I’ve truly found the platform helpful for fostering connections and growing my blog following.
Recently, I’ve become very aware of the need for my photo style to level out a little more. I’ve never been the blogger with the blown out, white-based photos, but in the process of discovering my IG aesthetic, I’ve really been drawn to the convenience of using Lightroom presets for editing both my blog and Instagram photos. Although every photo set is different, it’s great to start out with a base color and lighting to keep the look of the photos similar.
I’ve been using the VSCO Film 02 LR4 Leica set of presets while editing and have found they tone down the bright colors of our shoots and gives them a rich, solid aesthetic. When re-posting a shot on Instagram I typically adjust the contrast a bit, add some sharpness, and add a low level of pink or blue depending on the starting color of the photo.
