Sezane's Knitwear for Fall 2023
Every year it seems I pick up a new piece of knitwear from Sezane - seeing as it is their signature collection. In years past I've been so happy with my Leontine Jumper, my Gaspard Cardigan, and now my new Betty Cardigan.
The Betty Cardigan is a versatile light jacket to medium weight cardigan that can dress up any casual outfit or add a light layer to your fancy dresses. It's slightly cropped and comes in a wide array of colors to suit your preferences.
I absolutely love the Mottled Beige color but the Hazelnut is the perfect fall color.
Sezane's Neutral Sweaters
While the jewel tones of the season are certainly popular, there's nothing quite like a classic, neutral sweater. A few of Sezane's more popular knitwear pieces come in delicious natural shades.
I adore the button detail of the Louise Jumper, the contrast knit of the Angelie Cardigan and the coziness of the Jake Jumper.
Reviewing Sezane's Denim and Trousers for Petites
It's no surprise that Sezane's standard denim and trouser length runs long. Don't all French women have endlessly long legs? But for those of us on the petite side (I'm only 5'1") it can be a pain to find denim or trousers that work well for us.
Two styles from Sezane have worked for me as a petite this year and I wanted to share:
Sezane Brut Sexy Denim – a classic, non stretch denim cut that are exceptionally flattering on most body types, these actually suit a petite frame just as much as a taller women. They're not going to be as cropped, but with the straight leg style I think it actually works well.
I got a size 25 (my normal size) and I think I could have gone to a size 24. These are in the Edge Blue Color but I think the Indigo is the perfect denim color.
Matthew Trousers – these might be the perfect trouser for fall. Supremely comfortable and elegant they feel like sweatpants with their merino wool composition and elastic waistband but the permanent crease down the leg and beautiful construction elevates them fully to dressy pant status.
Note for petites: I did take these to my tailor and had them taken up about an inch. This allows me to still wear them with heels but also sneakers without them dragging on the ground. But they do hem so beautifully and it doesn't change the look of the pant.
The Ralph Jacket
A slightly oversized blazer jacket if you're looking for something a bit trendier that you could wear for 2-3 seasons, the Ralph Jacket is a classic, 100% wool blazer style jacket that runs a bit oversized but styled correctly is so perfect for the fall and winter.
