We've known for a while Maine was calling our name. I spent two weeks in northern Maine one high school summer and the wild coastline, copy-pasted lighthouses, and thick forests of oak and maple don't leave your memory easily.
So, in May 2021 we started planning - tentatively an Ireland trip, but more realistically a Maine adventure - and for 10 days early September we road tripped in New England's largest state. If you're planning a trip to Maine and are looking for a travel guide, I'll be posting that later this month along with a few reviews of places we stayed and the things we learned. What you'll find in this post is a pictorial journey of our itinerary with some footnotes along the way.
Travel with us from New Hampshire to Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport to Camden and get inspired to start planning your own Maine road trip.
