This year more than ever I've decided to embrace colors and patterns in my spring and summer wardrobe. Shocking, being a primarily neutrals girl, but I felt like infusing a bit of pizzaz into my wardrobe in small doses would be a fun experiment.
This spring, my capsule wardrobe looks a little different - mainly because my wardrobe basics are firmly in place and if I need to I can pull from them easily to make an outfit with a more statement piece.

Let's Talk Spring Dresses for Petites
Doesn't spring seems synonymous with floral dresses? This year I'm looking forward to pulling out a few familiar favorites that I've had in storage through the winter season, but also shopping some new, beautiful options.
The Marea Dress seen above is the perfect solution for a 'one dress for all situations'. It's dressy and classy but could be darling with a pair of white leather sneakers for a causal date night or workwear look. For petites, I've found it to be the perfect length - just grazing the top of the knee. If you like the pattern but not sure about the style, Shopbop is selling different versions of the dress like this maxi dress and even a skirt and top combo.
Easy tunic dresses with chelsea boots or are another winning combination for petites - just make sure the oversized fit of a tunic doesn't overwhelm your body. Length definitely helps with that, so as a petite choose a tunic dress that hits well above your knee. A few of my favorites include:

Favorite Petite Tops for Spring 2023
One of the items I've struggled with in my wardrobe is finding unique, petite friendly blouses that can be worn either year round or through 3 of the 4 seasons. I think this year I've managed to find some solid options that are both affordable and easy to style. A few brands I think are really helpful to browse during the changing seasons:

Favorite Denim for Petites
I have gone through so many pairs of jeans to try and find the perfect pair. Last year I had a collection of four perfect pairs of denim - different styles that fit me perfectly - and then some health resolutions came about and I lost quite a bit of weight and dropped multiple pants sizes.
So, this year I started my search again. Some solutions came from unlikely sources but thus far here are my favorites from my petite denim collection:
- Abercrombie High Rise 90s Straight Denim - I'm wearing size 23 Short (the short is perfect is petites!)
- Levi's Icon Wedgie Fit Denim - I'm wearing size 25 and cuff them once for the perfect petite length
- Sezane Perfect Slim in Black – I'm wearing size 25
A few other non-denim heroes that I've been wearing on repeat include the Abercrombie Black Satin Trousers - I'm wearing a size 24 short - and this pair of Adidas leggings.
