As a little girl, one of my favorite books was The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I would devour the pages, enchanted by the secrets, mysteries, and wonder of the fictional garden, often wishing I could stumble upon a hidden gem just like in the book.
Fast forward to last Tuesday. I was searching online for some new photo shoot locations in Greenville (because the azaleas are in full bloom right now) and stumbled across the promise of a beautiful garden tucked away near our downtown. A quick discovery visit proved enchanting – and when we went to take these photos I realized I had found my secret garden.
Secret fairy paths led adventurous spirits down a trickling stream. Delicate azaleas bloomed vibrantly. A tranquil pond filled with colorful fish and turtles provided a beautiful centerpiece. And this darling little bridge provided enough love to go around. While a serene gazebo presided over the acreage, stately and proud. And to top it all off, a bit of dandelion fluff was ready for a wish or two. And what goes better with a secret garden than a beautiful dress?
Dress season is officially here to stay and I’m more than willing to pull out my collection of spring and summer dresses for good now. This season we’re seeing bold florals, updated neutrals, and lots of natural fabrics in the mix. And now more than ever the midi dress is taking center stage with its easy-breezy length that translates effortlessly from day to night.
