Summer Wedding Guest Dresses for Petites

In the heat of the summer, when the invites for formal and fancy events take over the weekends, the last thing you want to be wearing is a stuffy or uncomfortable outfit. Linen has long been the de facto fabric of the summer and true, quality silk keeps you cool through the day. And fortunately, there are an endless number of beautiful linen and silk dresses these days that are designed for us shorter in stature women.

What to Look For in Fabric: Like I mentioned above, linen and silk are going to be the first fabrics I look for when searching for a nice dress. They're premium fabrics meaning you're paying for the quality of the fiber so they'll like be a bit of an investment and not often an Amazon find, but if properly cared for they will last a lifetime. What to Look for in Fit: You can, most definitely, combine fit, comfort and flattery into this one category - although there are nuances - but when it comes to fit I'm looking for things like proper length, no sagging fabric or gaping points. I want to be able to put it on without worrying about constantly tucking or folding or adjusting. It must fit well. Obviously, this is a bit trickier as a petite woman but brands like J.Crew and Abercrombie and more luxe brands like Zimmermann and Sezane do sizing for petites very well.
