With July just a breath away and summer in full swing, it's easy to fully embrace the styles of the season. Memories are made in linen rompers, summer feasts are enjoyed in light cotton dresses, and long walks are taken in Lululemon.

I made some resolutions early on this year to come to terms with my summer style. To find a few looks that I truly enjoy wearing and to embrace my motto of "less but better" throughout the sweaty season. Thus far, it's actually been a - dare I say it - fun process of getting ready in the mornings and picking clothes with intention and joy.

Read on to discover a few brands that have this summer dressing process joyful and how I've subconsciously been focusing on sustainability in my summer fashion.

Gentle Fawn Solange Romper c/o size XS and fits true to size | Sezane Jack Sneakers

Introducing Gentle Fawn

Canadian brand, Gentle Fawn, is the maker of the darling, linen-blend romper you'll be seeing me sporting in the photos throughout the post. They were a new-to-me brand based in Canada but are sold in over 700 retail stores throughout North America.

Their commitment to continuing sustainability efforts in their entire garment creation process (which you can read about here) is enough to earn my respect, but the quality of their pieces is the real linchpin. They're well-crafted and certainly pieces that could be in your summer capsule wardrobe for years to come.

Rediscovering Reformation

I've been a longtime admirer of Reformation, but a pretty recent shopper to the brand. 2018 was my first introduction to them via a thrifted dress that I loved. Back then, the prices of a new Reformation piece was out of my price range, but as things shift and change over time - from budget to priorities - I've rediscovered the brand.

Reformation is known for their beautiful, airy dresses - specifically summer dress styles - that have been seen on celebs from Megan Markle to Selena Gomez. And the cornerstone of their brand is a sustainable agenda that is backed by action.

I started out the summer with two basic but classic tanks that are on heavy rotation in my outfit planning. Then I added in a few more quality pieces to truly round out my collection including this darling sailor inspired tank, a silk tank that will stand the test of time, and a classic black linen dress.

Entering Everlane

While they've had their fair share of chaos in the past, I do trust Everlane as a brand with a mission toward sustainability and ethical practices. Earlier this year I worked with Everlane to showcase some of their spring pieces and had so much fun styling easy and classic garments for spring that could easily translate to summer. This post in particular has a few key pieces that I reach for a consistent basis like this ribbed knit cardigan and their iconic leather sneakers.

A video version also lives on my Reels page if you are interested in the fit and flow of any of the pieces mentioned in the post.
