What's In Your Water

As promised, a new blog series is starting to emerge out of my own experiences over the past year. This space - the blog and by extension my social media - has always been given to my own personal ramblings from time to time. It is a life + style blog and while I've tried over the years to niche it into a particular genre, I find more joy sharing a bit of personal growth as well as style choices and preferences.

So, I do hope you'll indulge me in this topic and if it's nothing that interests you - no worries - we'll keep the highly requested posts - books, style, desktop wallpapers, clean beauty - still the majority of the content in the years to come.

Health and wellness is not a new concept.

Instagram influencers flocked to the topic a few years ago when it was a pretty quiet space and (in my opinion) overran it with trendy diets, quick-fix lifestyles, image-based workouts, and a whole collection of slightly scary, pseudo-health ideals that are neither sustainable nor actually healthy. And, unfortunately, this is who we listen to when we want to get healthy - well, these people and our supremely broken healthcare/pharmaceutical system.

A series of strange health events has led to me change many many things about my wellness habits over the past few months and I've realized that while I may have had healthier habits than others over the past few years, for myself I was slowly building up a toxic environment for to exist in. Because here's the thing, health looks different for everyone.

What may be the best choices for you might not be for me. We cannot standardize healthy practices because every body is unique and different.

Throughout this series, I want to take a post a week (or something roughly to that schedule) to share some learned knowledge and eye-opening experiences I've had on different wellness topics – from sauna sessions to molecular hydrogen. If you're interested in what is actually in our drinking water and why it matters, how meditation can change the structure of your cells, what inflammation does to our health, this series might be for you.

Not a topic for you? No worries - Mondays and Fridays on the blog will still be all about our usual topics with Wednesdays diving into wellness practices. Thank you for listening, for being here, and for showing interest in this topic - we'll have lots more to come and hopefully it will be a space that is both helpful and encouraging for all.
